Lori Head, Ph.D

A lifelong teacher of movement and mindfulness, Lori brings a blend of expertise, curiosity, and irresistible joy to every retreat she leads. Her work is grounded in a strong academic foundation, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Science from Boise State University, a Master of Science in Higher Education/Dance from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of Idaho.

She is certified in Physical Mind Institute Pilates, NETA Yoga, Gyrokinesis, and is a Feldenkrais Practitioner. As the owner of Mind Your Body since 2005, she has cultivated a space where mindful movement, somatic awareness, and personal growth truly flourish. Her teaching style is known for being warm, intuitive, and infused with a little magic—meeting each person exactly where they are. Her love of travel has been a constant thread throughout her life, and it naturally evolved into leading group adventures when she began organizing cultural trips for her dance studio students. Guiding those early groups through Europe showed her how beautifully movement, learning, and shared exploration fit together—and she’s been crafting meaningful travel experiences ever since. Traveling with her is its own kind of adventure: equal parts mindful exploration, spontaneous detours, genuine connection, and plenty of giggles along the way. She has a gift for turning simple moments into memories.

At home in Lava Hot Springs, you’ll find her soaking in natural springs, driving her vintage and newer Volkswagen Beetles, and enjoying life with her husband, John, and their vibrant household of four dogs and four cats. She’s delighted to welcome travelers into retreat experiences that blend movement, community, surprise, and the sheer joy of discovering the world together.

Lacey Head-Hunter

Lacey is an educator, traveler, and joyful co-host of this retreat. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Oregon.

Originally from Idaho, she has called the DC area home for the past decade. Lacey has been traveling with her mom, Lori, since the day she was born—truly. Together, they’ve explored more than thirty countries, collecting stories, serendipities, and shared rituals along the way. Her mom has the “magic sauce” when it comes to travel, and Lacey does her best to keep up.

Co-hosting this retreat together feels like a natural extension of a lifelong adventure. Her approach to life and travel is mindful, playful, and full of heart. Lacey loves hiking, gently tending her outdoor spaces, sending snail mail, and savoring grounding moments at home with her husband Chris, her two-year-old daughter Adelaide, her almost-driving stepson Miles, and their three cats.
